I must have watched that movie 13 brazillion times growing up. I used to be so scared of the opening scene...
Seeing it again recently, it's pretty hokey, but at the time, man...
I also really like 3rd Rock. I don't know if that's cool to say. Whatever, it was a good dumb time.
Oh, and that scene during the "corn field boy" vignette in which we see his sister without a mouth. That caused nearly as many nightmares as the opening scene.
God, looking back that movie wasn't very good. Certainly not in the vein of the original series (which I still watch whenever I can... whatever happened to independent cable channels and TZ marathons?) But it sure creeped me out when I was younger.
I think that they must have played that movie at least 3 times a day when cable was new, and I usually watched it every time it was on. I haven't seen it since I was 10-ish, but I am sure I'd agree with kom and find it hokey today. The no mouth thing WAS one of the freakier parts - I think the actress is now the voice of Bart Simpson.
