I really don't see the humor in this AT ALL. Selling shoes is a noble profession. It can also be quite dangerous, leaving life-altering scars. Do you know how horible it is to go through life not knowing your right from your left without holding up your hands to see which one makes the "L"?! DO YOU?! Then there is the the proper boxing technique. That take years, YEARS to perfect. Most importantly, they spend their days on their knees bowing to the customers demands. The subserviant attitude that many customers have is just plain wrong. Damn all your shoe salesman mockery! Damn it to hell!!
I sell shoes, and there is nothing mythical or interesting about it. If you've seen one bunion, you've seen them all. God, I can't wait to quit.
I managed a shoe store...yes, it's true. I smooshed size 8 fat ladies' feet into size 5 for vanity sake. Oh, the stories I can tell. I SOLD SHOES!!!
