I'm 37, is 24-25 too young for me to be dating?
I wouldn't be asking if there weren't interest from a couple girls in that age group. I'd like to know what you think cuz people younger than me seem to see no problem, people older than I don't see a problem, but people right around my age (mostly wimmins) are all "Hell no, that's a HUGE age difference!".
I don't think I can do it, even though one is really cool/HOT.
I'm still waitin to see what's gonna happen with the girl I've been dating after this whole photo-fiasco.

Well, since you asked, I'm going to differ with those women "your age" (which is only a year older than me) and say this:
The question is not "are they interested in Jerk?" but "is Jerk interested in either of them?"
The age is good...the age gap not so bad, really. Age-wise, the only thing you have to watch out for are girlies who just want to get married and drop babies as soon as possible. And if that's what YOU want, then it's not a problem, neither.
I would wait for the fallout with the photo debacle to settle first, though.
:D Jensy
It's a huge gap only if she's a dippy little girl who still depends on mommy and daddy to take care of her.
Ahem *coughs* strike that. I still depend on mommy and daddy to take care of me.
As long as you have some things in common and you like her/she likes you, what's the problem?
Got common interests? Common goals? Common aaaanything? Find out, and if so... have at er.
Happy Canada Day to my favoUrite Canadian wannabe!
hook it up!
but be prepared to pay for almost everything...
i think young women expect older guys to do that. i know i do. if i date someone older, i don't even offer to pay. if i date someone my age, i insist on paying all the time.
wait - not all the time. mama needs shoes, you know. i pay at least half of the time.
From a legal standpoint, Jerky, you're safe.....
Now then, as far as should you? Well, typically, somewhere around 25 is where age really starts becoming irrelevant. There are HUGE maturity growth spurts from 18-21 and then again from 21-25. After 25 anything within a generation (the average generation being roughly 25 years) it doesn't seem to make a big difference.
With a 10+ year difference, just be prepared for the fact that she's not going to remember your formative years at all and things you may take for granted she's just not going to relate to.
That said..... all of the above advice seems pretty sound.
I THINK you already know where I stand on this, but just in case you don't: I've always dated older men, my husband is 13 yrs my senior, most of the time it is fine since our maturity levels are similar. For dating it is fine. Long-term, things get a little *ahem odd. I'd say have fun. You only live once. Whether it is great, or it turns out crappy, who cares. As long as you are enjoying yourself in the interim...
That's like a Foyer, right?
